1. These forests are found on both sides of the equator between 10 degrees north and 10 degrees south latitudes.
2.These areas recieve heavy rainfall throughout the year.
3.The temperature remains very high.
4.The trees are very tall.
5.The main areas are Zaire basin in Africa, Amazon basin in South America and few islands of South East Asia.
6.Main tress found in these regions are ebony, rubber, rosewood etc

Explanation:

1. They are found in the areas recieving more than 200 cm of rainfall.

2. Usually the temperature of these areas are between 15 to 30° C .

3. Tropical evergreen forest are dense , multi layered and harbour many types of plants and animals.

4. They have sparse undergrowth interspersed with clearings.

5. They occupy about 7% of the earth’s surface and they are found mostly near the equator.

6. Types of plants and animals found are

Flora :- Ebony , Mahogany , Rosewood Rubber Chinchona etc.

Fauna:- Elephants , Monkeys , Lemur , Deer , Birds , Bats , Sloth , scorpions and snails.

7. In India, evergreen forests are found in the western slopes of the Western Ghats in States such as Kerala and Karnataka. They are also found in hills of Jaintia and Khasi.
