Five main features of the mansabdari system:1. The king recruited the mansabdars by himself and could promote, the mansab, lower rank it or remove it.2. A mansabdar subjected to perform any civil or military service.3. There were 33 ranks of mansabdar. 4. Salary to mansabdars paid in cash.5. The salary paid to the soldiers was included in the personal salary of the mansabdar. Mansabdari was a system, an army and civil services introduced by Akbar, like civil service of today. Akbar introduced aspects in this system and was the pillar of the Mughal administration.
