The Principal Marks of Punctuation are :-
1) Full Stop - (●) - The full stop indicates the longest pause. It is used :-
(A) To close a statement or command.
Eg: Give me your Pen. (.)
(B) Used after abbreviations, degrees, titles etc.
Eg: Prof S.K. Yadav M.A. (Master of Arts)
2) Mark of interrogation - (?) - The Mark of interrogative is used at the end of a direct question.
Eg: Do you realise the value of time (?)
3) Mark of exclamation - (!) - It is placed at the end of the exclamatory Sentence
Eg: How kind of you (!)
4) Comma - (,) - The common is the shortest pause. It brings out clearity to our writing. Comma is used:-
(A) To seperate three of more words in series ; Phrases in series; clauses in series.
Eg: She is beautiful, sincere,humble and efficient.
(B) It is used to set off onward of address place either in the beginning or at end of the sentence.
Eg:1) Don't disturb me, children.
Eg:2) Mr. Ahmed, just show me your card.
(C) To seperate question tag.
Eg: It was a useful discussion, wasn't it ?
(D) After yes/no when they introduced the answer to a question.
Eg: Yes, You can take these books.
(E) When and adverb is placed at the beginning of sentence, a comma is used after it.
Eg: Fortunately, Nobody was injured.
(F) After interjections:
Eg: Oh, I am sorry to here that !
(G) To seperate direct speech
Eg: The speaker said, " winners never cheat."
(H) In an adress and dot

5) Semi colon - (;) - It stand between full stop and comma It is used point a seperate to seperate coordinate clauses not joined by a conjunction.
Eg: He does not respond to My letters; He does not attend by parties; He ignores me.
