COMPUTER VIRUS

A computer virus is destructive software which means it is made to spread itself and do damages to the system. Usually computer virus is man-made. Computer virus are quite dangerous as they have enoromus ability to vanish your files/memory or even controlling your computer.

Here are the four types of computer virus :-

• Boot sector:- Boot sector virus infects the boot sector of the computer. Boot sector is an area which is accessed when the computer starts. After it infects this sector it loads into memory of computer. This virus is dangerous because it has ability to remove data. Example:- Disk Killer.

• Program virus :- This virus affects the files which have a specific executable codes like .exe, .com etc.This means that the virus will stay in file and infects the other files. This virus has ability to destroy the file  totally. Example:- Jerusalem.

• Macro computer virus :- Macro is the set of commands written by a user. For example :- MS excel, Visual Basic etc. These macro application is infected  by this virus. This virus damages file in such a way that this applications willn't respond and will be out of our control. Example:- WM.NiceDay.

• Multipartite virus :- These viruses do the work of many types of virus. these virus have ability of affecting boot sector as well as program files and they can easily vanish all the files which it infected and it is difficult to remove it. Example :- Anthrax.
