consequences of the majoritarian or majoritarion policies adopted by the sri lankan govt are:

1.in 1956, an act was passed to recognise sinhala as the official language of Sri Lanka, this disregarded the Tamil.

2. The preferential policies only favoured Sinhalese applicants and the government later stipulated that they shall only protect and foster Buddhism.



All these measures alienated the Tamils. They felt that the constitution were being extremely partial towards Sinhalese. The Tamils then formed a Tamil eelam in northern and eastern parts of srilanka
