Three forms of caste politics in india :

  1. Appeal to caste: Certain political parties, appeal to different castes. Some political parties are known to appeal to some particular caste.
  2. Reserved Seats: There are reserved seats for backward castes, Scheduled castes and Scheduled Tribe in the government.
  3. Favoured castes: Some political parties are known to favour certain castes in politics. THey use this method in other to seize votes from the majority people who will be supporting that caste.
  4. Representation of caste: In politics, parties include different castes and choose a particular caste as representative during elections so as to muster maximum votes.
  5. One vote, one value: Since there is one vote, one value dur to Universal Adult Franchise in the country, it has helped to mobilise political support by the leaders. (Everyone's votes counts and every caste --even those who were considered inferior-- can take part in politics.)
