there are variations in the distribution of minerals in india because each states in india has different conditions for the occurrence of minerals as some minerals occur
1) alluvial soil
2) ocean water
3) decomposition
4) sedimentary rocks
5) igneous and metamorphic rocks

Answer:- Three reasons for variation in the distribution of minerals in India are:
a). Geographical structure:
India has a varied geological structure. there are lofty mountains, vast Plains and Peninsular plateau. Peninsular rocks contain most of the reserve of coal and metallic minerals. Rajasthan with the rock system of Peninsular has reserves of non-ferrous nature.
b). Variation in process:
These physical features have been formed by various geographical processes. Northern plains have been formed by deposition of silt brought by rivers where is Peninsular plateau was formed due to volcanic eruption leading to formation of different minerals.
c). Time involved:
Time also plays a very important role in the formation of minerals. For example, coal occurs in rock series of tomb in geological ages, namely Godvana, a little over 200 million years in age and in tertiary deposits which are only about 55 million years ago.
