following are the strategies adopted by the government to protect the interest of consumers

1)Enactment of COPRA:
under this act a three-tier judicial machinery at the district state and national level was set up for redressal of consumers disputes.
the act enables the consumers to represent them in consumer court

2)RTI act:
oct 2005,the government of india enacted right to information act (RTI)which ensures the citizens all the information about the functions of govnt department and people can ask and complaint on issues like bad roads poor water and health facilities etc

3)standardisation of the products: there are organisations like ISI,Agmark,hallmark which develop quality standards for many products
they provide logos and certificates that help consumers get assured of quality while purchasing the goods and services
