Two important differences between the power sharing model accepted by Belgium and Sri Lanka are;
(i) The Belgium leaders attempted to resolve the ethnic dilemma by recognizing the feelings and concerns of different identities and their association and sections, whereas the Sri Lankan government decided to resolve the dilemma through the policy of majoritarianism.
(ii) The Belgium solution accommodated in withdrawing civic struggle however the majoritarianism in Sri Lanka commenced the civil war.
