Answer:
Explanation:
Those substances which gives H⁺ ion in aqueous solution are known as acid.
Example :
HCl (aq) ==> H⁺ (aq) + Cl⁻
CH_{3}COOH (aq) ==> CH₃COO⁻ (aq) + H⁺(aq)
Those substances which gives OH⁻ ion in aqueous solution are known as bases.
Example :
NaOH (aq) ==> Na⁺ (aq) + OH⁻ (aq)
KOH (aq) ==> K⁺ (aq) + OH⁻ (aq)
