according to article 22 of our constitution
a person who is arrested is to be tried by the megisterete within 24 hours of his arrestment .

the arrested person is allowed to assist. lawyer who could fight his case . to prove him right . but persons who are poor , who cannot afford their own lawyers are provided lawyers from the side of government . those lawyers are paid by the government .

this shows that each and every person has the right to be defended by the lawyer , whether rich or poor .
