Atmospheric pressure, also called barometric pressure, force per unit area exerted by an atmospheric column (that is, the entire body of air above the specified area)

Atmospheric pressure depends on factors which are given below:

§ As you go upward in direction, you see that the density decreases because of less molecule or particle in air. Therefore pressure decreases as density decreases due to less collision or less force exerted by the molecules.

§ Pressure does not depend on surface …it. depends on depth of air as you go dowmward the specific wt increase because of increasing gravitational force ..

§ Therefore air pressure depends on HEIGHT of air , SPECIFIC WEIGHT, DENSITY, GRAVITATIONAL FORCE…..
