The Balkan issue arose from the decline of the Ottoman Empire from the late 17th century and the power vacuum it created. Overlapping spheres of interest of the Great power and local nationalism made the Balkans a powder keg once central Europe became a power center with the unification of Italy and Germany in 1871

at the time before 1st world war , the major countries of Europe wanted to increase their power. the wanted to take over Balkan region( consist of today's Rome , turkey , etc. ) .
where Balkan was divided in small clans who dislike each other. therefore they also wanted to take the land of other clans . this divided the whole Europe in small pieces and led to 1st world war .
