cell wall is found in plants only .In plants it is made up of cellulose.It is the outer protective covering of plants .The main function of cell wall is to give plant support .It helps in strengthing of plant .It helps plant to protect from outside.

Cell Wall,
Cell walls are a protective layer present in plants and some bacterias,it is very important in maintenance of cells structure and rigidity.
The cell wall in plants is very different from bacterias.Plants cell walls are made up of cellulose, hemicellulose etc. and bacterias cell walls are made up of peptidoglycan.
Structure & function:
The cell wall is very thick and rigid compared to the plasma membrane.
In plant cells the cell wall is the outer most layer but in bacterias there is another layer present after cell wall called capsule.
(1)In eukaryotes the cell walls have pores between two nearby cells called plasmodesmata.
Function: Plasmodesmatas give the passage of simple food particles, hormones, metabolic wastes etc.
(2)Cell walls are shared by many nearby cells i.e. a common wall protects two cells.
Function:To use less resource and give the best function.
(3) middle lamella is a part of cell wall which is present in the middle of the wall.
Function:It serves as distinction.At first the middle lamella is produced and piles of cellulose make the whole wall
(4)Primary cell walls are attached with the middle lamella and are primarily made up of cellulose.
Function:The plants which are not so strong have the last layer as primary cell wall.It serves rigidity to it.
(5)Pictins are the junction between middle lamella and primary wall.
Function:This serves as a interlink between them.
(6)Then comes secondary cell wall it is the last layer of the cell wall and there can be multiple no. of secondary wall.
Function:This is present in the hard hard woody plants and more the layer of secondary cell wall more the rigidity.
(7)The most uncommon scenario is tertiary wall.Very few plants possess this layer.
Function:This is the most rigid part in the cell wall.This type of woods which have tertiary layer are used to built cricket bat,base ball bat etc.
