During the Stone Age, Humans made primitive tools out of stones and bones of animals. They basically lived in caves and hunted animals and gathered fruits, roots and nuts. There were limited population groups at one place and humans did not live at one place. They moved from place to place in search of food and water. Humans were not aware of any metals or agricultural practises. Stone Age can be divided into three periods- Paleolithic, Mesolithic and Neolithic Age.
Neolithic Age paved way to Bronze Age Civilisation. During this age people discovered how to use metals instead of stone. The use of metals (copper + tin = bronze) brought the Neolithic period to an end, although many of the skills learned during that time would continue. Humans at this time realised that bronze was a harder metal than copper.
As a result of the discovery of bronze, humans started making durable and harder agricultural tools which led to the expansion of cultivation. They now began to live in large groups and communities which ultimately led tot he begnining of the civilisation. Surplus production led to the emergence of trade.
