Budding in hydra

In Hydra, the cells divide rapidly at a specific site and develop as an outgrowth called a bud. These buds, while attached to the parent plant, develop into small individuals. When this individual becomes large enough, it detaches itself from the parent body to exist as an independent individual.

Budding in yeast
The cell cycle is the succession of events whereby a cell grows anddivides into two daughter cells that each contain the information andmachinery necessary to repeat the process. Between one cell division andthe next, all essential components of the cell must be duplicated.Themost important component is the genetic material (DNA molecules presentin chromosomes), which must be accurately replicated and the two copies carefully segregated to the two daughter cells.
