Take a stone, some water in a beaker and a balloon filled with gas. Apply equal amount of pressure on all of them. You will see that, balloon will be more effected by applying pressure as compared to water and the stone would be barely effected. The reason is the difference in the intermolecular forces between the particles.
Since gases have the large intermolecular distance and hence have the least force of attraction between them so their particles can move freely and hence gaseous state is highly compressible.
Liquid state such as water has comparatively less intermolecular distance between its particles, however the fore of attraction is temporary in liquid state which allows it to move freely resulting in a limited degree of particle mobility.
Solids are rigid in nature and have the strongest force of attraction between the particles. That's why the constituent particles occupy a fixed position.

Answer:

u can take any solid like stone ,metal etc and then try it to break,u will find that it will not break as it is rigid than liquid and gases

so u can say that particles are tightly packed and attraction is more in solid and like this try in gas and liquid also

hope it's helpful to you, buddy.
