1.Caste like communalism, encourages the belief that people belonging to the same caste belong to the same natural community and have the same interests which they do not share with other communities.

2.In many places, people vote on the basis of caste and fail to select suitable candidates.

3.When parties choose candidates in election they nominate candidates from different castes so that their chances of winning the elections would be more.

4.Political parties and candidates favour a particular caste only,so that they get more votes from that caste people.

5.When a government is formed after elections, political parties take care of caste equations and different castes are represented in the government. Political parties appeal to caste sentiments during elections.

Caste in politics is the worst effect of world's illness, what I mean to say is that caste is the soft weapon that is used all around us.

We generally see that there are 2 candidates and 1 got chance to stand in elections as he or she is of lower caste.

But why parties do so ?

Answer is very simple, our constitution architect Bhimrao Ambedkar set reservations for dalits in order to safegaurd them but now a days people use it as vote card to take vote of lower castes.

Need a closest example ?

Just in last year, 2017 there were elections to chose president of India. Many parties wanted there candidates to be president but amongst all of them MS Swaminathan, one who brought "Green Revolution" have a chance to be president and he should be as he worked out for farmers. But the government chose Ramnath Kovind to be a president which shows that along with all other factors the government also wanted to show soft corner to Dalits.

However in race of castism we forget that in reality there are only two religions and castes; RICH and POOR. These rich can even be daits and these poors can even be Brahmins.

Hope it helps☺!
