Causes of World War One:

There were many causes to the War such as; imperialism, nationalism, militarism- but the most important and the immediate cause was the assassination of the Austrian Archduke, Ferdinand by the Serbian-Nationalist terrorist group called the Black Hand.

Result of the First World War:

It led to the fall of four great imperial dynasties:

1. Germany

2. Austria-Hungary

3. Russia

4. Turkey

It led to the Bolshevik Revolution in Russia, destabilization of the European Society and it was also one of the major causes of the second World War.

It led to the signing of the Treaty of Versailles which held Germany responsible for the outbreak of the War. They made Germany pay over £6 Billion in War Reparations. They made Germany disband their Armed Forces. This resulted in the isolation of the country from the rest of Europe. The Treaty was one of the reasons for Adolf Hitler's rise to power as a Dictator.
