Explain Components of Microprocessor.

The basic functionality of the microprocessor is do processing. Microprocessor performs two type of operations called Arithmetic and Logic. So the basic functionality unit which consists of Arithmetic ( Addition, Subtraction, Multiplication, Division ) and Logic ( AND, OR, NOT ) is called Arithmetic Logic Unit.

Some of the common components of a microprocessor are :-

• Control unit.

• I/O unit.

• Arithmetic Logic Unit (ALU)

• Registers

• Cache
