Different crop requires different climatic conditions , temperature and photoperiod for their growth and maturity .

In India, there are two main seasons of crop growth:

Kharif crop:-1)These crop grow during rainy season (June to Oct.).They are also called summer crop .

2)The cheif kharif crops are paddy,maize, millet, groundnut ,soyabeans,green gram, cotton and jute.

3)Vegetables of kharif crop are spinach ,gourd etc.Fruits are watermelon, mango,and lichi etc .

4)They are monsoon or rainy reason crops.

5)The crop grow in hot and wet conditions.

6(These crops are sown in the beginning of rainy season in June - July. These crops are harvested during September -October at the monsoon .

Now, Rabi crops:-
1)These crops grow Nov to April .Rabi crops are also called winter crops.

2)The important rabi crops are wheat , barley etc

3) Vegetables like cabbage , cauliflower, radish etc, Fruits like apple, pomegranate, Orange etc.

4)They are non-moonsoon season crops .

5(The crops grow in cold and nearly dry conditions.

6)These crops are harvested in march-april before the advent of hot season.These crops are sown in October -november when monsoon is restarted.
