Theory of natural selection was proposed by Charles Darwin.
Explanation:
- The theory of natural selection suggests that nature eliminates those organisms those do not exhibit any kind of survival advantage.
- In a population of species there exists a number of variations or traits which make organisms suitable for survival.
- Certain organisms have better phenotypic characteristics over others which favors their survival in the changing environment.
- An example of beetle color is suitable for this. The red color and green color beetles where found in the grass. But the population of red color beetles reduced considerably because they were detectable to the birds and the green colored beetles used to mimic the color of grass remained undetected and they survived.
