Determiners : The words that are used in front of nouns to indicate something whether it is specific or particular are called determiners.

Examples :

  • My book is in the almirah.
  • This tree has a few apples.
  • I got first position in the class.
  • She has a nice dress.

Determiners are classified into following categories :

1. Articles : Articles are used to qualify noun that they are particular or non particular.

  1. A boy and a girl went to the school.
  2. The girl, who came here was blind.

2. Possessives : Possessives are used to qualify the nouns that they belong to them.

  1. Give your notebook to week students.
  2. She has borrow my pen.

3. Demonstratives : Demonstratives is used to point out the noun.

  1. That is not my bag.
  2. These shoes are mine.

4. Quantifies : Quantifies are used to tell how much the nouns are.

  1. I have no problem with you.
  2. Take some drinks for me.

5. Cardinals : Cardinals are used to tell us the exact number of nouns.

  1. The boys has ten kites.
  2. Human being have two eyes.

6. Ordinals : Ordinals are used to tell us exact position of noun.

  1. I like very much this story.
  2. I played last match of my life.

7. Fractions : Fractions are used to tell us the fraction of nouns.

  1. Give me a half of bread.
  2. Neena drives at full speed.

8. Multipliers : Multipliers are used to tell us how many times or how much.

  1. I told you twice.
  2. Don't do this thrice.

9. Intensifiers : Intensifiers are used to surprise or praise nouns.

  1. She has such a phone.
  2. What a beautiful rain it is !

10. Distributives : Distributives are used to distribute the nouns.

  1. Every boy of my class came here.
  2. Each person of us likes Indian food.
