Hope this helps
Explanation:
Break, Break, Break", composed by Lord Alfred Tennyson, is a superb expression of personal grief and sorrow. It is an outpouring of intense despair that is killing him in every moments in his entire life as expressed in the poem. The untimely death of his close friend has brought him an unbearable pain and deep sorrow. The poet feels that no one is with him to mourn over the loss of his dear friend Arthur Hallam and only the poet who is with him to do so. Observing the difference, he admits that everything has remained unchanged except him. Nature carries her duties as usual like the waves of the ocean breaking against the rocks along with the seashore without staying even for a moment. The rest of the world goes on well like the fisher man's boy happily playing with his sister, sailor lad merrily singing and the stately ships moving towards their destinations with full of enjoyment.
The poet is quite in grief looking at the liveliness and beauty of nature and the world which never fades. But he is no more lively as his friend has left him leaving alone here in this world. So, the poet feels that the happy moments of life never stays for long, it fades away within a short span of time. As he says that human life changes from childhood to old age and finally death, the way happy memories of life also becomes the vanished past after death. He is missing his lost friend while he is standing on the bank of the sea. He mourns over and over again the absence of the self touch of his dear friend and he would never hear that sweet voice that had been shared in the past as he is no more with him right now.
