There are two types of fisheries :-

Marine fisheries – They are fish catching areas near the sea shore or back water, coastal areas. Few important fishes are pearl oyster, Solomon, tuna etc.

Inland fisheries – Deals with fishes of pond, lakes and river. Examples of fishes are rohu, catla.

More to know :-

Fisheries are water bodies where fishes are cultured and reared for commercial purpose, These can be both fresh water & marine (salt water)

Fishes here may be the captured ones or raised/cultured internally.

Fisheries help in exporting and thus earns foreign exchange.
