As pulses are mainly proteins, their digestion starts in the stomach.
When the food enters stomach the stomach secrets gastric juices which includes pepsinogen which gets activated by the acidic nature of hydrochloric acid and turns into pepsin which partially digests proteins.
Then the food moves to small intestine where bile juice is secreted by the liver and the pancreas secret pancreatic amaylase, lipase and trypsinogen which gets activated by the intestinal juice which is secreted by the small intestine itself.
This activated trypsinogen called trypsin then fully digests proteins and breaks them down to amino acids. That's how the pulses are digested
