Example of negative hydrotropism is shoot growth of a plant which is away from water.
Tropism is a phenomenon in which root growth of a plant is seen to be towards the direction of gravity.
Similarly, root growth of a plant towards water is called hydrotropism.
This is also referred to as positive hydrotropism.
But in case of negative hydrotropism, shoot of a plant seems to deviate away from water, hence the name negative hydrotropism.
