Dipole dipole forces are attractive forces between the positive end of one polar molecule and negative end of other polar molecule. Dipole dipole forces strength varies from 5KJ to 20 KJ per mole. They are much weaker than ionic bonds and have a significant effect only when the molecule are closed enough to make a stronger forces. All polar molecules have partial positive and partial negative ends.
The arrangement of iodine monochloride(ICI) is the example of these forces. In ICI molecule the more electronegative chlorine atom bears partial negative charge and vice versa for iodine atom bearing partial positive charge.
