Explain displacement with examples

here is ur answer....
displacement is defined as the shortest distance covered by a body . It is a vector quantity as it have magnitude as well as direction. It can be zero and is never negative it can be positive . like if a man starts frm 1 point in a circle and again come back to that point than its displacement is zero as displacement is the shortest distance covered between the starting and final point. one more example is there like one student covers a distance of 12 m frm his house to a shop and another student also goes frm same house to shop but he covers 10. distance than 10m is actually the displacement with respect to one and it can be zero if person again come back
