The majority of mammals (including humans) utilize a double circulatory system. This means we have two loops in our body in which blood circulates. One is oxygenated, meaning oxygen rich, and the other is deoxygenated, which means it has little to no oxygen, but a lot of carbon dioxide.

hope it is helpful :)

Double Circulation means that blood comes two times into the heart during a single circulation.

In Birds and mammals, double Circulation of blood takes place due to their complex body design and high energy demands.

Explanation -

When oxygenated blood comes from lungs into the heart through pulmonary vein it firstly reaches left atrium, then it moves further to reach left ventricle, from left ventricle it goes to all the body parts through Aorta which is an artery, helps in bringing oxygenated to various body organs.

All the organs use this oxygenated for performing their activities and produce carbon dioxide in return. Blood rich in Carbon dioxide (deoxygenated blood) is carried by Superior and inferior Vena Cavas to Right atrium, superior vena cava takes deoxygenated blood from Upper body parts whereas inferior vena cava takes deoxygenated blood from the lower body parts. When deoxygenated blood comes into right atrium it reaches right ventricle and then again reaches blood to get a rid of Carbon dioxide.

So here, blood first came into the heart then moved away to all the body parts, after that ut again brought into the heart to get back to lungs.

So, blood came two times into the heart in a single circulation and this is what we call Double Circulation.
