First , You can equal the 2 equations after that you can add both you can get one value x or y , and then you substitute the value in any equation you can get second value.
Let see the example of this method ●>>
x + y = 4 ---------1
x - y = 6---------2
Now equal the equation
x + y = 4 ×1
x - y = 6 × 1
x + y = 4
x - y = 6

y = -1
Now we can substitute the value ,of y in eq 1
x + (-1) = 4
x - 1 = 4
x = 5
So that the value of x is 5 and y is -1

in elimination method we can eq 1 and eq2 cancel both up an down
