The Company's rule over india was not a fair one. the Indians were considered to be inferior to the British. the Indians could not join the British sevices on higher post. if they worked in the army, the police force or in the judiciary, it was only at lower post. the British also exploited Indians and their resources. factories in Britain used raw materials that came from india. peasant in india were therefore forced to grow crops that were required by the British factoryies. peasant also had to pay heavy taxes to British. even when the crops failed, the had to pay these taxes. at times village were also hit by famines. the British did nothing to care for the people thousand of people died in these terrible famines
