The relationship between injuries and physical conditioning is that if we do not do activities or exercises properly, we can injure ourselves through falls, blows, among others.

Treatment of injuries usually begins with the RICE method, (rest, ice, compression, and elevation) to relieve pain, reduce inflammation, and speed healing. Other possible treatments include pain relievers, immobilizing the injured area, rehabilitation, and sometimes surgery.

To avoid injuries we must:  

  • Wear protective equipment, such as a helmet, gloves, knee pads and the like.  
  • Warm up before playing sports.  
  • Know and respect the rules of the game.  
  • Stop playing sports when injured.
