Fleming's Left Hand Rule

“Hold out your left hand with the forefinger, second finger and thumb perpendicular to each other. If the forefinger represents the direction of the field and the second finger represents that of the current, then thumb gives the direction of the force.”

Fleming's Right Hand Rule

"Hold out your Right hand with the forefinger, second finger and thumb perpendicular to each other. The thumb indicates the direction of the motion; the forefinger indicates the direction of the magnetic field and the middle finger represents the direction of the induced current"

Explanation:

Fleming's left-hand rule is used for electric motors, while Fleming's right-hand rule is used for electric generators. ... In an electric motor, the electric current and magnetic field exist (which are the causes), and they lead to the force that creates the motion (which is the effect), and so the left-hand rule is used.
