Explain flow work in Thermodynamics

"In thermodynamics, work is the quantity of energy transferred from one system to another without an accompanying transfer of entropy." I would interpret "flow work" as a determination of a quantity's rate in time (flow) of energy (together meaning power) transferred for a loss-less adiabatic process.
