Factors That Affect the Rate of Evaporation

Temperature of the liquid. A cup of hot water will evaporate more quickly than a cup of cold water.

Exposed surface area of the liquid.

Presence or absence of other substances in the liquid.

Air movement.

Concentration of the evaporating

substance in the air.

Answer:-

Factors affecting evaporation:-

  1. Temperature: Temperature of a place increases the evaporation rate since it increases the kinetic energy between the particles.
  2. Humidity: Humidity (water vapour content in atmosphere) if increases, evaporation decreases and vice - versa.
  3. Wind: Wind also influences evaporation. Thats what we keep our wet cloths at roof top.
  4. Surface Area: Surface area also helps in evaporation. We spread our wet cloths at roof top so that it takes less time to get dried.
