it is one of the basic mechanisms of evolution.you cannot avoid it as it happens in every species and every population.In each generation, some individuals may, unintentionally, leave behind a few more descendents carrying their genes than other individuals. The genes of the next generation will be the genes of the certain individuals, not necessarily the healthier individuals. That is genetic drift.
