Explain geotropism in detail.

The growth of the parts of the plants in response to the force of gravity is known as geotropism. There are to types of geotropism-----
1) positive geotropism
2)negative geotropism.

it is the directional movement or orientation of the plant part in response to gravity
if the plant parrot moves in the direction of the gravity it is called positive geotropism alternatively if the plant part moves against the direction of gravitation it is termed as negative geotropism
for example root of a plant move downwards in the soil in a direction of gravitation and thus show positive tropism
the steam or shoot of a plant shows movement against the direction of gravity and those shows negative geotropism
