Hiiiiii Friend,

The type of lens used to correct the defect of vision myopia is Concave lens.
Myopia can be corrected by using concave lens of suitable focal length in the spectacles of such a person.

Reason for using Concave lens is that it is a diverging lens, and a myopic person has eyes with eye lens having high converging power and the image is formed on some distance in front of retina , so it is corrected by concave lens and hence the light rays coming in the eyes are diverged and image is formed on retina.

I hope it Helped You.....

Answer:

Myopia: Short-sightedness is caused due to excessive curvature in cornea or elongation of eyeball. Image is formed before of the retina. So, a concave lens is used to correct it.
