Gravitational potential energy is the energy an object has due to its position above Earth, energy due to its height. ... The equation for gravitational potential energy is GPE = mgh, where m is the mass in kilograms, g is the acceleration due to gravity (9.8 on Earth), and h is the height above the ground in meters.❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

Gravitational potential energy is a potential energy body has with relation to its mass (due to gravity)

NOTE :- this energy is possessed by object because of its height (position)

*Example - a ceiling fan has higher gravitational potential energy than a table kept of roof .

its formula is - Mgh

M - Mass

g - acceleration due to gravity

(usually 10m/s^2 or 9.8 m/s^2)

h - height

Verification -

if height and mass of ceiling fan has 2m and 1 kg respectively.

thus its gravitational potential energy - 2*10*1

=20 J

also, let height and mass of table be 1m and 1 kg

thus gravitational potential energy- Mgh

= 1*10*1

=10J

Thus we can say that ceiling fan has more gravitational potential energy than table ..
