A large number of gses produced by the combustion of fuel is allowed to escape through q jet in the backward direction due to the very high speed or velocity, the backward rushing gases have a large momentum they impart an equal and opposite momentum to the jet aeroplane due to which the jet aeroplane forward with a great speed. Thus , we can also say that rockets and jet aeroplanes work on the principle of conservation of momentum

Jet aeroplane works on the principle of law of Conservation of momentum.
Explanation:
- In a jet aeroplane, once the ignition process started, the combustion will takes place.
- In the combustion process, mixture of air-fuel have undergone combustion process at high temperature.
- This releases the gas with high velocity in backward direction with large amount of momentum.
- As per Newton's third law - "For every action there is an equal and opposite reaction"- the above mentioned process produces equal and opposite amount momentum in the jet engine.
- The jet aeroplane will move upward with greater velocity, when large amount of equal and opposite momentum is created.
- Here the momentum can also be mentioned as thrust.
- From this procedure we can say a jet aeroplane works on the principle of law of conservation of linear momentum.
