(i) Micro-organisms convert the dead plants and animals to humus. This humus helps in returning the nutrients back to the soil. These are absorbed by plants.

(ii) The animals also help in dispersing the seeds of certain plants.

(iii) The decaying animal dung provides nutrients to various types of seedlings to grow.

All these activities of animals dwelling in the forest help it to grow and regenerate.

Animals helps the forest in growing as well as regenerating by these ways :

1. Animals feed on the vegetation of the forest. They eat plants, fruits, etc. And by eating all these they makes the land clear for fresh growth.

2. Animals like honey bees has a great role in pollinating as well as in the dispersion of seeds of the plants bearing flowers.

3. Humus is formed by the decomposition of the animals that are dead. This then increases the fertility of the soil.
