Now the Cotton plant is called as bt cotton and their cry genes will produce certain toxic protiens When pests eat the cotton, those toxic protein will get activated due to the alkaline condition in the pest's stomach. And the pest will die. Thus bacillus thuringiensis helps us to control pests from infecting cotton
