Heya friend,

Physical changes are changes in which no chemical properties of object is changed only the size, shape , or physical appearance is changed.

Chemical changes are changes in which chemical properties of an object is changed.

So tearing of paper is a physical change because we have just teared it into pieces. We have changed the physical appearance of the paper.

And burning of paper is chemical change because we changed everything of the paper. Like size, appearance and it's of no use now.

Hope you got the answer. If still any doubts occur, do let me know :)
