•Fertilizers are chemical in nature and these are  manufactured in factories.
Manure is an inorganic substance that is obtained from decomposition of vegetable and animal wastes.

•Microbes are not needed for fertilizers formation.
Microbes are needed to form manure  since they degrade the organic substances.

•Fertilizers are easy to transport ,store and apply to crops.

Answer:

  • Fertilizers - These are chemical substances (prepared in factories), not natural, and rich in soil nutrients like potassium, phosphorus, and nitrogen. These do not provide any humus to the soil and are easily absorbed by plants. They improve the physical condition of the soil but adversely affect it if added in large quantities. Examples of fertilizers are ammonium sulfate, urea, and potash. The advantages of fertilizers are that they are portable, easy to transport, quick, restore soil fertility, easily absorb by plants, and increase the productivity of crops such as wheat, rice, and maize.
  • Manure - It is obtained by the decomposition of plants and animals after death. It is slowly absorbed by plants and is not very rich in nutrients. These are prepared naturally in fields and provide a lot of humus to the soil. It does not improve the physical condition of the soil but does not affect the soil in large quantities. The advantages of manure are that it increases the water-holding capacity of the soil, improves soil texture, increases the number of microbes in the soil, and facilitates the exchange of gases.
