The heart has four chambers.

 

Blood enters the right atrium, from where it is sent to right ventricle. From the right ventricle, the blood is pumped to the lungs, where it gets oxygenated. The pulmonary veins carry this oxygenated blood to the left atrium.

 

The left atrium pushes the blood into the left ventricle of the heart, which then pumps this oxygenated blood to the Aorta, for distribution to other parts of the body.
