Methods of lowering land degradation on:
i)Hilly areas and slopes:
One method that can be used is terracing. This method controls progression of land degradation by decreasing soil erosion and and water surface run off.
ii)Arid areas:
Reforestation is a method that help bring back soil integrity in arid regions.Trees can strengthen the soil and prevent further erosion while consequently improving the soil.
iii)Semiarid areas:
-Protection and maintenance of ground cover- This helps protect the soil from soil erosion and loss of moisture.
-Use of fertilizers-this helps make soil more fertile hence improving its yield and plant production.
iv)industrial and suburban areas;
Government intervention in keeping in check the  effect of urbanization of suburban areas and the acquisition of land for development of industries.
v)Agricultural lands:
Use of crop rotation- crop rotation can help control the available soil nutrients that they are not depleted maintaining the soil integrity.
