explain how our eyes can see the distance as well as the nearby objects with almost the same clarity

We have iris which contract and expand to control the diameter of the eye which adjust our eye focal so thats why we can see far as well as nearby object cleary.

Also you notice that you can focus on only one object at a time it is because of iris which adjust your eye focal length to see that particular object.
