Explain how power is shared among different levels of the government?

i) Power is shared among different organs of government through the horizontal distribution of powers.(ii) These organs are Legislative, Executive and Judiciary.(iii) This type of distribution advocates "separation of powers" in which different organs of government at the same level exercise different powers.(iv) Separation of powers ensures a check over the unlimited powers of each organs in order to maintain "balance of powers" among various institution. Hence, this type of power sharing is also called a system of "Checks and Balances"
