Advantages were he somehow managed to arrange them in order for the first time.He also put some blank spaces for the unknown or to be discovered elements that time.Eka-Aluminium,Eka- silicon were his great achievements.
Disadvantages is simple, not always atomic mass can take only one element at one place, some may occur before or after. There was no explanation of it.
Thanks.

Helloo!!
uses of Mendeleev periodic table
Atomic weight of element were determined with the help of periodic table atomic weight = valency x Equivalent weight
2. Atomic weight of element where corrected atomic weight of beryllium was calculated to be 13.5 by considering valency 3 but Mendeleev calculated it to be 9
3. Discovery of new elements in Mendeleev periodic table two consecutive member differ by 2 or 3 unit in the atomic weight where this gap was more the gaps are left in periodic table
4 The discovery of the first to Noble gases Helium and organ in 1890 suggested the possibilities that that their must be other similar elements to feel to fill an entire family this idea lead Rimsay to his successful research of krypton and Xenon
5. Work on the radioactive decay series of Uranium and Thorium was also guided by the period table
Limitations of Mendeleev Periodic Table
1. position of hydrogen is uncertain it has in place in 1A and 7A groups because of its resemblance without both the groups.
2. No separate position given for isotope.
3. Noseparate group for lanthanides and actinides.
4. Although there is no resemblance expect valency of subgroups a and b they have been put in same group.
5. The order of increasing atomic weight is not strictly followed in the arrangement of elements in the periodic table for example Cobalt is placed before Iodine and Argan is placed before potassium.
hope it helps
